encapsulation
this letter was encapsulated in cellulose acetate. the plastic has degraded and has rendered the paper translucent.

feather and balloons
the very large dream catcher was made with branches from a bush behind the gallery, rope from the 99 cents store, and neon spray paint. the pinatas were made with balloons, flour paste, and the dallas observer. eden made the balloon shoe with a deflated helium balloon that had been inhaled by her sister lola.

deterioration
as a paper conservator i have the opportunity to observe the effects of age, mold, pests, fire, water, and other forms of damage/degradation. above is a legal document that was water damaged and subsequently suffered from a mold outbreak. the paper clip rusted and became integrated with the paper collection. the paper fibers became powder. sad and delicate.
